Henton Village Hall
can be found
on the B3139 between Yarley and Henton. It comprises of a main
hall, suitable for wedding receptions, parties etc., and a small
meeting room. There is a bar area and an excellent kitchen that
can cater for up 120 people. The Hall fully complies with
The Disability Discrimination Act
and is regularly used by many groups and clubs including a
disabled group. Outside there is a large grassed area and large
car park.
Henton Village Hall as it stands today was opened in
1999. It replaced the original building that was of a sectional
wooden construction. "Henton Hut" has it became known was
originally situated in the Village of Wookey and in the 1930's
was physically moved by the villagers of Henton to it's present
location in Henton where it was used regularly for parties and
dances.
The new hall was funded funded by various means including The
Foundation For The Sport And Arts, The Community Chest,
Lankkelly Foundation, Local Government and massively by monetary
and physical local effort. Priority for use goes to the
residents of the parish, but it is available to those from
outside the parish if free.
The hall is a registered charity run by a committee of
managing trustees. |
